Privacy Policy

Last updated: 29 June 2026

Draft template. Replace every [bracketed] value with your real details and have a professional review this before publishing. It reflects how Ankylix currently works (no analytics, no tracking).

This Privacy Policy explains how [Your legal name / business name] ("we", "us"), the developer of Ankylix (the "App") and the operator of ankylix.com (the "Site"), handles information. We have designed Ankylix to collect as little data as possible.

1. The short version

2. Data the App processes

Ankylix runs entirely on your device. To move, resize, focus and switch windows it uses the macOS Accessibility and Input Monitoring APIs locally. This information is processed in memory on your Mac and is never transmitted to us.

The following is stored locally on your Mac only (in UserDefaults and the macOS Keychain):

3. Software updates

If automatic updates are enabled, the App periodically checks for new versions by requesting an update feed hosted on [GitHub Pages / your update host]. As with any web request, the update server may log technical data such as your IP address, the App version and your operating system version. We do not use this data to identify you. You can disable automatic update checks in Preferences → General.

4. Payments

We sell licenses through Paddle, which acts as the merchant/seller of record. When you buy a license, your payment details (name, email, billing country, payment method) are collected and processed by Paddle, not by us. We receive limited order information (such as your order ID and country) to fulfil and support your purchase. Please review Paddle's Privacy Policy.

5. Support communications

If you email support@ankylix.com, we receive your email address and the contents of your message, and use them solely to respond to and resolve your request.

6. The website

ankylix.com is a static website. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics or tracking scripts, and does not profile visitors. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (including IP addresses) for security and reliability.

7. Legal bases & your rights (EEA/UK)

Where the GDPR applies, we process data to perform our contract with you (providing and supporting the App) and on the basis of our legitimate interests (securing and improving the service). You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or port your data, and to object to processing. To exercise these rights, contact support@ankylix.com. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority [in Spain: the AEPD].

8. Data retention

Local data remains on your Mac until you delete it or uninstall the App. Order and support records are kept only as long as needed for legal, accounting and support purposes.

9. Children

Ankylix is not directed to children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

10. Changes

We may update this policy; we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
